It is commonly used to protect surfaces during production, packing, shipping and installation.Thin, visible surface protection, 3M Polyester Protective Tape 336 is a thin, polyester film tape designed to protect finished surfaces from light abrasion, nicks and scratches. The transparent tape provides visibility through the tape to the protected area for easy application. It won't mar or leave sticky residue behind, making it ideal for finished surfaces. This tape offers excellent heat, abrasion, tear, scratch, impact and puncture resistance. It can withstand extended exposure to temperatures up to 150°F/66°C, and short term (30 minutes or less) exposure up to 250°F/121°C. Heavy Duty, Abrasion Resistant Protection 3M™ Vinyl Tape 472 has a thick backing that combines high abrasion resistance with the inherent conformability of a vinyl. Designed with unique stretch properties, this tape conforms to irregular, curved and convex surfaces while remaining stretched and without lifting after application. The rubber adhesive aggressively adheres to a variety of surfaces and maintains its bond for long periods of time, including up to one year in outdoor applications. This combination of the backing and adhesive properties help to keep the tape securely in place, even in rugged and outdoor conditions.
